WE ARE OPEN, AND NOW WITH FEWER RESTRICTIONS
TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS UPDATED 11/14/2020:
Massachusetts has placed restrictions on persons traveling here from states deemed a high risk for COVID-19. This now includes
all states in the continental US. Unfortunately a number of our members are affected by this. Travel to Massachusetts from
these states is limited to essential critical infrastructure workers. Click here to visit the Massachusetts travel order page. There is also a link on the State's travel order page to the Federal definition
of persons qualifying for exemption. Routine travel is allowed only if you file a State travel form and have had a COVID-19
test just prior to travel, or if you intend to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival, or if you have a COVID-19 test upon arrival
and quarantine until a negative test result is received. For our New York residents: In addition to the Massachusetts restrictions affecting
our members who live in New York, their state has placed restrictions on them for visiting any other state. Click here. Essentially, if you wish to travel to Massachusetts from New York, you must file
a Massachusetts travel form and provide a copy of a negative COVID-19 test completed no more that 72 hourse prior to your
travel. In addition, New York requires you to take another COVID-19 test on the 4th day after your return. This is not a one
time deal. It must be done every time you travel to Massachusetts on non-essential travel (i.e. skeet shooting, etc.). UPDATED 12/08/2020:
Note that the Governor has modified his executive order, and we have reverted to Phase 3 Part 1 of the reopening plan effective
12/13/2020. THE STOCKBRIDGE SPORTSMEN'S CLUB is now operating under Phase 3, Part
1 of Governor Baker's Executive Order, although restrictions still apply. As an indoor and outdoor recreation facility, we
are allowed to open our range buildings to 50% of normal operating capacity. Before you use the ranges, please read the following
Range Rules which ae now if effect:
- ARCHERY RANGE RULES Rev 10-5-2020
- PISTOL RANGE RULES Rev 10-5-2020
- RIFLE RANGE RULES Rev 10-5-2020
- SKEET FIELD RULES Rev 10-5-2020
NOTE: .22 LR
caliber rifles may now be used on the pistol range in addition to the rifle range.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
INDOOR ARCHERY LEAGUE IS CANCELLED: The league is cancelled, but the indoor archery range
remains open. MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS ARE NOW DUE: Current members must pay their annual dues by January 1st. A renewal reminder letter was sent to
all members, and the recently mailed club newsletter has a form you can mail in with your dues. RIFLE RANGE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE:Recently I loaned two steel
target stands to the rifle range. I went to the range on November 11th to find that the bottom members on one of them had
been shot several times, with holes completely through. I removed the stands, and needless to say I'm extremely disappointed
that someone would intentionally do this. In addition, i've noticed that the PVC target stands placed at the rifle range get
shot up quickly, while those at the pistol range do not. Perhaps we need to restrict all target placement to the 100 yard
position, and reinstall the camera to monitor range usage. Rob McDermott, President. DONATIONS RECEIVED: The club has received some generous donations recently, including a new Cannon
40 gun fireproof safe, a Victory Innovations cordless electrostatic decontamination sprayer, and two used Beomat skeet machines
with wobblers. Thank you to the members who donated these items to the club. CLUB LAND ACCESS: The Stockbridge Sportsmen's Club nows owns
over 200 acres, extending from our clubhouse location, well into West Stockbridge, and over the top of the ridge. Only current club members and guests accompanying them may use
the property for recreational purposes, and care should be taken to avoid exposure to areas downrange from our shooting facilities.
Please note that this includes a 3-D archery course west of the rifle range. In addition, members may be hunting on the property
in season. The club's land is posted, with the exception of the Forest Legacy property that sits between our other two parcels
and is accessible by the public only from Route 102, and not by passing through our posted properties each side
of the Forest Legacy property. MA ATTORNEY GENERAL BANS ASSAULT RIFLES: Attorney General Maura Healey has issued a directive
making formerly "Massachusetts Compliant" AR and similar style rifles illegal in the state effective Wednesday,
July 20, 2016. Click here to visit the State's web page regarding the ban
and any exceptions, and click here to visit the GOAL Blog for information on legal
challenges being made against the Attorney General. NOTE: If you are visiting our club from out of
state where your so-called assault weapons are perfectly legal, DO NOT bring your gun with you. It's a felony offense. Remember, your vote could help preserve your Second Amendment rights.
