The club has been built on a long-standing tradition
of volunteerism. The founders of the club, members of all ages, and even members of the community with no affiliation
to the club have put in countless hours to make the club what it is today. The expansive property, with numerous buildings,
ranges and trails takes a tremendous amount of work to maintain in tip-top shape. With your help, we can surely expect to
see our club remain a source of pride for all members for years to come. The Stockbridge Sportsmen's Club cannot sustain itself
without your help. When you come up to shoot your bow, rifle or pistol, walk the trails, or watch the experts break some clay
pigeons take a moment to make sure the club is a little better than when you got there. Don't wait for someone to ask for
your help. We are asking. Take the initiative to tackle a small project on your own- no permission necessary. So, you think something could be better if it was just....... Well, just do it!
Got an idea? Get after it. Want to bounce a big idea off the board? We are happy to hear you ideas for improvement. Shoot us an email and we'll
discuss it at the next meeting.
No Brainers: Ways to help in just
one minute while you're enjoying YOUR CLUB:
Throw spent cartridges into the brass container or toss tattered targets into the trash (say that five times fast!).
Empty the garbage (the dumpster
is just behind the clubhouse).
Sweep
the floor.
Pile up destroyed target
butts/ pallets neatly into a pile for spring burning.
Build a new target.
Replace
cardboard on the target butt for the next shooter.
Got a little time to lend a hand
for a one-man project? The following are some quick projects that just need doing:
Rifle Range:
Finish soffits
Build new target butts
Clean up pallet debris
Weedwack
the sides of the range
Install
carpet on the tables. Carpet is there but you'll need a razor knife and stable gun.
Build a bench for spectators along the back wall (left side as you enter.
Pistol Range:
Grounds:
Outdoor Archery Range:
Clear the trails - trees are always falling and brush it
always encroaching on our trails.
Bring
a chains saw, loppers, or some pruning shears and go for a walk.
More projects are soon to be added
to the page. If you happen to knock one or more of these off the list please shoot us an email and let us know what you did.
